Additionally, we have a wide assortment of essential oils that our therapists utilize on a normal massage at no additional charge, to further enhance the client’s massage experience.

Many people don’t realize that their health insurance may cover massage therapy. Some of our clients have separate massage benefits on their plans or have the capability of using their health savings and flex spending accounts for massage. When a person is injured in an auto accident or at work, the auto or workman’s comp policy, in most cases, will pay for massage treatments to help get you back to pre injury status.

“I love practicing massage. This has been a passion of mine since I was a teenager. Massage has been used since ancient times to relieve pain and promote healing. I have always been more interested in dealing with pain in a more natural way. Massage relieves pain by reducing muscle tension and by triggering the release of endorphins, natural pain relieving chemicals in the brain. Massage also reduces stress levels by inducing relaxation, which relieves anxiety. I truly believe in the power of touch.”

Gloria completed training as a massage therapist in 1986 at Irene’s School for Massage. Here she learned about Touch for Health and reflexology and received her first exposure to energy work at that time. She worked doing massage for a few years and furthered her education by getting a masters degree in social work. In the late 1990s, she took classes to become a Reiki Master. It was when she was working as a social worker for a local hospice agency that one of her patients told her about Healing Touch. She was so impressed that she located classes in Healing Touch and went on to receive a certification as a practitioner. She was able to apply her Healing Touch training in helping relieve pain, anxiety, and stress for hospice patients, staff members, family, and friends. She has been privileged to apply Healing Touch to cancer patients, people recovering from various types of surgery, illness, and those with other types of life stressors.

“I have been attracted to natural ways of healing since the 70s when I took a reflexology class at a local community college. I was really hooked when I was able to relieve my children’s stomach aches and pains by rubbing specific areas of their feet. The energy work I learned from Irene Gauthier opened a door to a way of healing I found truly amazing. I now use a combination of Healing Touch and other energy work to people in need. I have found over the years that energy work allows me to help people in ways I could never do as a massage therapist.”
